How it works

Five steps. Under a minute.

From POS export to Gusto-ready payroll, with no spreadsheet gymnastics in between.

  1. Step 1

    Connect your POS

Sidekick supports Focus, Square, and Toast. Pick yours during onboarding — that's all the setup required.

Sidekick POS selection screen showing Toast, Square, and Focus as fully supported options.
  2. Step 2

    Export your labor report

At the end of each pay period, export your standard labor report from your POS. No special configuration, no custom report builder — just the file you'd normally download.

Three CSV files exported from a POS: time_entries.csv, employees.csv, and tips.csv.
  3. Step 3

    Upload to Sidekick

Drag the file in. Sidekick automatically detects the columns and asks you to confirm the mapping. The mapping is saved, so future uploads of the same report type are one click.

Sidekick upload page with three CSVs (time entries, tips, employees) ready to process.
  4. Step 4

    Review the payroll summary

Sidekick shows you a per-employee breakdown — hours, overtime, tips, gross pay. Anything unusual (overnight shifts, missed punches, rate mismatches) is flagged so you can fix it before exporting.

Sidekick review screen confirming 5 employees, 10 shifts, and 0 issues — ready to generate payroll.
  5. Step 5

    Export your Gusto-ready file

One clean CSV in the exact format Gusto expects. Upload it in Gusto, run payroll. Done.

Sidekick payroll summary table with hours, wages, tips, and total pay per employee, plus an Export Gusto CSV button.
